Easter is the celebration of Christ’s Resurrection, and is considered the most important feast of the liturgical year. We prepare for Easter during Lent, a period of 40 days of fasting and prayer, starting on Ash Wednesday and concluding on Holy Thursday. This page will provide resources to help you experience a meaningful lenten journey.
St John the Baptist Parish in Chico invites us to join them...
Reconciliation 201: A Refresher
We had a great turnout on Monday, March 11th @ 7PM for this meeting. If you could not make it, but would still like information about the Sacrament of Reconciliation, contact the Religious Education office at 345-6201 or view the "Belief" page of this website for resources and information.
Pope Francis said, "To celebrate the sacrament of reconciliation means to be wrapped in a warm embrace". Is that your take on the Sacrament of Reconciliation? If you are like most adult Catholics, probably not. Furthermore, many practicing Catholics have not been to reconciliation for 20 plus years (or since their very first time). Maybe you have had a bad experience, you are afraid to do something wrong, or you simply do not know what to do. Don't let fear stop you from knowing the peace that this healing sacrament provides when you come to the Lord just as you are, sin and all, to be reconciled with Him. Come to a Reconciliation 201 refresher and prepare to receive God's mercy and grace in reconciliation this Lent. You will learn the meaning of this healing sacrament, the different ways to celebrate this sacrament, and what to do when you go to confession. We look forward to helping you heal.
